Like most of the businesses, the exhibition business has experienced it’s share of disruption due to the Covid19 pandemic that swept across many parts of the world. One of the most active show organisers on the international map – Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has announced a new format for the none shows that were originally scheduled for the months of April and May 2020. Each year, during this period, HKTDC organises some of the most well-attended shows in various industries, including those related to lighting, sustainability and home improvement segments. This new format is being rolled-out along with HKTDC’s Summer Sourcing Week.
The nine shows viz., HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair, HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), HKTDC International ICT Expo, HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week, HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair,Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair will be held concurrently from July 25-28, 2020 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
With these nine parallel fairs, the HKTDC will also organise a Summer Sourcing Week from July 25-28. Featuring nine fairs located at the same venue, it will provide a one-stop cross-industry platform for global buyers to replenish their stocks. Additionally, HKTDC is offering O2O (Online To Offline) business-matchmaking services at its fairs so that overseas buyers who cannot come to Hong Kong. Through the O2O route, overseas buyers can locate target exhibitors in advance. Video conferences will be arranged between buyers and exhibitors to discuss business deals.
