2020 has been a challenging year for companies across the building materials market. It’s also been the period in which technology has emerged as a big differentiator. Solutions like automatic sliding doors, access control systems, door closers, and more have been seeing an increased interest and acceptability. This has been especially true if the solutions are offered by brands that have traditional competence in such areas. dormakaba is one such brand. As we enter 2021, we look at some of the new products line-up from this technology player in the building materials market.
dormakaba access control systems get a new solution in the form of Safe Checkpoint Tower (featured above). Through this solution, dormakaba has developed a secure, hygienic access control system for automated entrances. It helps in the controlling head-count in a given area. In Addition, tt covers various entrance situations and is designed as a modular construction kit. The heart of the system is an access control tower with pre-selectable modules. These include the modules for:
Depending on the desired security level, the functional tower can be combined with revolving doors, sliding doors, swing doors or separation systems, such as turnstiles, tripod barriers and sensor barriers.
The new Argus Air Solutions Security with face recognition combines a maximum of security with a smooth and effective passenger flow. This is also a new addition to dormakaba access control systems range, meant for the airport environment. It ensures reliable access control into restricted areas. The new eGates from dormakaba support passengers and staff throughout the entire process, from curb to deck. The sound ergonomic design of the systems guides users intuitively. The built-in sensors distinguish luggage and trolleys from persons with the utmost reliability. Argus Air is also flexible – document readers of all common brands on the market can be easily installed and used. In addition, its narrow and short construction saves on space.
The new ES PROLINE drive system for automatic sliding doors is suitable for various applications. Firstly, it combines the latest technology, energy efficiency and sustainability. Secondly, for the first time these have a tested lifetime of 1.5 million load cycles. Thirdly, the modular design allows its use in sliding doors with and without escape route function and in telescopic automatic sliding doors. Featuring the brushless motor technology of the latest generation, the drive works very quietly, is extremely fast and moves doors with a leaf weight of up to 2x 200 kg. The electronic components consume much less energy than those of the earlier model. The highlight of this solution is that the sensor technology is integrated into the cladding. So, there is no need to install a separate (and annoying!) detector on the inside of the door.
The sliding door made with thermally separated profiles can be implemented with triple glazing and thus achieves a very low UD value (heat transfer coefficient). Also, the sliding door is available with burglary protection. The system is suitable for single and double-leaf systems with and without the escape route function. Passage widths up to 3,000 mm are possible with this new generation of ST PRO Green automatic sliding doors. The sliding door is characterized by power, size, reliability, sustainability and efficiency. It is equipped with the ES PROLINE operator system. Up to 2x 200 kg door leaf weight can be moved. Again, with a tested and long service life of 1.5 million cycles, the drive also provides a door solution that is long-lasting.
The new self-locking panic lock solution SVA/SVI reliably ensures a secure lock after each closing. The lock series for 2-leaf doors complements dormakaba’s existing portfolio of self-locking panic locks (SVP). Also, it is characterised by its wide range of variants. In addition to the simple mechanical solution and the handle-controlled variant for access solutions, the SVA/SVI panic locks also offer a fully motorized solution for barrier-free door applications. Moreover, all panic lock variants are certified according to EN 179, EN 1125, EN 12209 and EN 14846. Above all, these solutions are available in different versions for timber, steel and profile doors.
