Canadian Wood hosted a successful webinar on sustainable, versatile & legal wood in India

Canadian wood is the crown agency of the government of British Columbia. Its official name is Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd. By hosting the informative webinar “Canadian Wood – Versatile, Sustainable and Legal,” the brand informed its audience about Canadian wood species. It also talked about the various steps that B.C. Canada takes for sustainably produced wood. Ever since increased environmental awareness, the lumber industry is trying to adapt to the changing needs. So, Canadian wood is trying to meet the demand for sustainable wood products in India. In addition, it is trying to generate awareness about the need for sustainably produced wood through this webinar.

Numerous experts from the field attended the webinar and explained why wood is a better option as compared to popular materials like brick or concrete. The webinar also emphasized using sustainably sourced wood in India. In addition, it highlights that if cared for well enough to enhance its life, sustainably sourced wood is good for the environment.

While addressing the audience, Mr. Pranesh Chhibber, Country Director, FII-

“Canadian wood reaches out to the target audience through a highly accomplished techno-commercial team based out of Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Bangalore. While the products must be transported across the globe because B.C. Canada is distant from India, doing so can be done without having a harmful effect on the environment, which is why we strongly support Sustainable Forest Management. After seeing operations across locations since the early 1990s, Canadian wood today is available with 41 stockists spread across 23 cities. To increase awareness, Canadian wood consistently organizes educational seminars, networking events, training workshops, and conducts product trials under the “Try Canadian wood” program amongst their target audience.”

“India has a large need for sustainable wood suppliers since local customers are placing greater demands on businesses to show a commitment to environmental preservation while manufacturing wood products. Thus, using wood as a material is environmentally friendly. One must go for certified wood because of its legality and ensure that the source of lumber is always traceable. Only 10% of the world’s forests are certified and Canada alone has over 40% of the world’s forest certification.”

The Canadian province of British Columbia (B.C.) is the largest exporter of lumber in the world. Also, it is a global pioneer in sustainable forest management in the lumber industry. Therefore, it attempts to meet the needs of the environment, society, and economy. The lumber industry’s choices for sustainable building materials have changed because of environmental awareness. So, Canadian wood in India strives to minimise the damage to the environment and human health. It does so by utilising fewer materials, energy, and water to ensure sustainability.
