SICAM 2024: Key data and insights of the event

Just three weeks after the conclusion of the SICAM 2024 edition, a large number of exhibitors have already started showing interest in participation, and many new exhibitors are also requesting to secure their spot at the next event, scheduled for October 14–17, 2025. This strong affliction highlights SICAM’s pivotal role on the international trade fair calendar, celebrating its 15th edition this year. The recently wrapped-up event further demonstrated its quality and appeal. The event hosted 692 exhibitors from 34 countries at the fair, covering an area of more than 41 thousand square meters, including 19,135 net exhibition square meters; 9,243 visiting companies from 118 countries came to Pordenone to meet them. Another interesting insight about SICAM 2024 is that there were almost 30,000 people at the fair during the four-day event which included 23,542 visitors and 5,368 exhibitors. 

A closer look at the visitors that attended SICAM 2024

A closer observation of the visitor data at SICAM 2024 gives some interesting insights about the event. Firstly, the provenances: 62% of the attendees were from Italy while the remaining 38% travelled from overseas. Out of the international visitors, Europe was at the top of the list with 69 per cent of foreign visitors. This was followed by Asia which has 20 per cent of visitors. 6 per cent of the visitors came from America, 4 per cent hailed from Africa and Oceania contributed to 1 per cent of the visitors. Besides Italy, the top countries represented included Germany, China, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Romania, Greece, Serbia, and the United Kingdom.

The visitor profiles also tell a very compelling story about the “quality” of visitors at SICAM 2024. Owners and CEOs held the top position in terms of visitor qualifications, followed closely by technical staff, commercial employees, sales managers, and general managers. This high-level attendance reinforced SICAM’s reputation – a key event for making business decisions and strategic developments.

In terms of the key focus industries at SICAM 2024, furniture topped the list of represented sectors, with components, kitchens, contract, and bathroom sectors the second. Italian and international industry tops the segmentation of visitors by type of business, followed by trade, another very international category, artisanal manufacturers, a point of excellence in Italian production, services, representative activities and publishing.

Among Italian visitors, most came from regions with strong ties to furniture and furnishings: Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Marche, and Emilia Romagna.

Despite SICAM’s reputation as a compact, easy-to-navigate, and highly product-focused fair, the average time spent was 1.33 days, with Italians staying an average of 1.19 days and international visitors 1.63 days—a key insight showing there was plenty to explore and discover this year’s event.

Key observations

The international furniture and furnishings sector has shown its faith in the event organised by Exposicam once again. It is a fair that is liked not only because of the high-quality exhibitors and visitors attending or the ease with which they can meet or touch tens of thousands of new ideas and products but also because of the overall quality of the event. The atmosphere remains relaxed allowing everyone to focus on their business pleasantly.

This year, the organizers made the positive and purposeful environment even more welcoming, hospitable, and suited to the requirements of exhibitors by completely revamping the stand setup. They have also raised the new height of the stands to 2.5 metres. This has undoubtedly raised SICAM’s comfort while preserving its beloved showroom feel creating the ideal stage to showcase products front and centre—something both exhibitors and visitors have come to appreciate year after year.

Highlights from SICAM 2024: Events, industry insights, and cultural experiences

Enriching appointments and events filled SICAM 2024, bringing situations and topics of high interest into the spotlight. Firstly, a large U.S. delegation from the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association, came to SICAM to establish new partnerships that are important for a market that is approaching with great effort the taste and “ways” of European living. A complete workshop was conducted on Wednesday, October 16th, during which the American guests illustrated with data the great potential that Italian subcontracting companies could get their hands on.

The companies attending SICAM also got a chance to get a better idea of how to manage the problem of waste processing by Recycla, a Herambiente Group company, that attended a fair and also organised a related event.

On Friday, October 18th, the ADI Friuli-Venezia Giulia delegation welcomed over 300 students, adding fresh, youthful energy to the event. This visit offered students an up-close look at the furniture supply industry, highlighting potential career paths in a sector rich with opportunity.

To round out the experience, the second edition of “Enjoy Pordenone with SICAM” invited attendees to explore the city and its vibrant culture. This event, organized by the City of Pordenone, introduced visitors to local flavours, scents, and the region’s natural, cultural, artistic, and architectural treasures, creating an unforgettable off-site experience.

Looking ahead to SICAM 2025

With the successful culmination of the SICAM 2024 edition, preparations for next year’s edition are already underway. Over the coming months, the team will focus on strengthening existing partnerships and establishing new ones, engaging both national and international companies, associations, and industry leaders who will gather in Pordenone in October 2025.

As tradition dictates, this outreach will span the world’s key markets to elevate SICAM’s standing as Italy’s premier trade fair in the sector and one of the most influential globally. This dedicated effort aims to generate greater interest and opportunities for all participants—both exhibitors and visitors—further solidifying SICAM’s role as a pivotal event in the global furniture and furnishings industry.
