False ceilings are the secondary ceilings built below the actual ceiling design of a space. An important aspect of the false ceiling is its channels. Different types of false ceiling channels have different uses. The 4 channel types are:
- Perimeter Channel: These fix around the partitions and walls, giving excellent support to all types of drop ceilings.
- Intermediate Channel: These are the primary channels that support the ceiling sections.
- Ceiling Section: Another major material used in the construction of a false ceiling is the ceiling section. It provides support to the plasterboard.
- Ceiling Angle: L-shaped suspended from the main ceiling through a fastener are called ceiling angles.
