Schüco partners with air-lux for large sliding systems with active sealing technology

Building deformations and the resulting negative effects on the weather tightness and function of large sliding systems & joints are huge challenges in high-rise construction. The solution lies in a piece of sealing technology that actively adapts to the changing ambient conditions. To this end, Schüco formed a strategic partnership with Swiss company air-lux on 11 September 2020.

The two companies hope to enter into foreign markets by combining their strengths and producing very weathertight sliding systems. Thus, both will gain from the other’s knowledge. Air-lux Technik AG has been successfully deploying its proprietary active sealing technology in a wide range of buildings & sliding joints throughout the world for 15 years. Moreover, the technology has been continually improved and put through extensive testing, including hurricane testing. Also, Schüco’s significant experience in the development and design of complex façade solutions is brought to bear on projects all over the world.

Active sealing technology for sliding systems

The air remains forced into the continuous gasket by a compressor hidden in the outside frame at the touch of a button. Thus, it closes the gap between the sliding vent and the outer frame. Also, the proprietary sealing technology has excellent benefits.

  1. Maximum sound insulation
  2. Class 4 air permeability
  3. Class E1500 water tightness
