aluplast, a world leader in uPVC window and door profiles, has installed a 300 kWp solar rooftop system at its Vadodara site in Gujarat, marking a major progress in sustainable energy. Babak Golriz, Head of Expanding Markets, and Dirk Seitz, Director, attended the inauguration ceremony on 27 February, 2025 at the aluplast factory in Gujarat. The facility site, which is over 2000 square metres, has a solar rooftop installation that covers fifty percent of the site’s energy consumption and reduces a substantial carbon footprint. Over its active life span, aluplast Vadodara site is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide by almost 4.1 million tons, equivalent to planting 5,100 trees annually. Thus, this initiative in this facility accentuates aluplast’s dedication to sustainability through practical, creative and application-based actions. Additionally, it highlights the ethical, responsible, sustainable and accountable business practices through environmentally friendly technologies.
Innovative, energy efficient and sustainable solutions at aluplast
aluplast incorporates sustainable practices across all its business operations. The commitment to high quality is also apparent in its framework, processes, materials and services. From product design to manufacturing, aluplast has always prioritised sustainability. One of the products is uPVC windows and door profiles, which are made of recyclable materials. This supports environmental protection, provides durability, and promotes energy efficiency for customers. uPVC may be recycled to a maximum of seven times without affecting the quality of the material. These materials last over 30 years providing customer value for their investment and require very little upkeep. aluplast has also sharply reduced its energy usage by installing an innovative and extremely efficient compressed-air screw compressor, optimising production line energy use. Further, it implements several other strategies such as solar rooftop installation, etc. As a result, aluplast’s production facilities currently use the least energy in Europe.
Babak Golriz, Head of Expanding Markets, aluplast India Pvt Ltd, speaks about the solar rooftop installation-
He stated that this solar rooftop installation project is a significant event in their sustainability strategy. It’s not just about energy savings. To reduce the environmental effect caused by the business operations, aluplast is investing in new extruders and production lines. This can handle recycled uPVC by 2026. This will further benefit from the fact that uPVC is 100% recyclable. He further stated that aluplast is setting an example with this solar rooftop installation. It is thus merging sustainable business practices with innovative technologies to create an environmentally friendly future.
