With the growing awareness about the environment all over the world, the lighting industry is also going through a transformation towards sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Research by Stratistics MRC predicts the growth of the sustainable lighting market from USD 6.92 billion in 2019 to an impressive USD 35.26 billion by 2027. This shift has happened due to continuous efforts of environmental stewardship and cutting-edge technologies that make sustainable lighting solutions accessible and efficient.

The Lighting Fair displayed E-Lite Semiconductor Incorporated as a noteworthy solution. It has introduced smart lamp posts with LED lighting and sensors. These optimise energy use by adjusting the lighting levels based on real-time environmental conditions. Therefore, it means that lighting can be dimmed when there is natural light available and vice versa depending upon the environment. Such a smart lighting technology benefits both the planet and the society at large.

Another great launch this year was Tridonic’s lichtMONITOR lighting management software. The team showcased this lighting solution for the first time in Asia. It allows users to monitor and manage an entire building’s lighting system in real time. With lichtMONITOR, users can track lighting needs and identify areas for improvement, creating substantial opportunities to save on energy costs. By analysing usage patterns and providing insights into consumption, the software helps building operators make informed decisions that align with sustainability goals, making it a game-changer for commercial buildings and smart cities alike. Sustainability in lighting was an important agenda at the event.

Reflecting this trend, the Autumn Lighting Fair featured innovative products that put people’s health and well-being at the centre of lighting design. Leedarson IoT Technology Inc. introduced the LEEDARSON circadian rhythm kit, a lighting control kit that allows users to individually adjust light colour, temperature, and brightness to mimic natural daylight, improving comfort and thereby leading to healthy productivity levels. Meanwhile, LTECH’s NFC Bluetooth RGBCW Driver is a lighting solution that helps users adapt to natural light cycles, supporting healthy sleep rhythms and safeguarding eyesight by matching indoor lighting with real-time sunlight changes.

The Polish exhibitor TOPMET, which was also a first-time participant presented its NAMI23 LED aluminium profile. By adopting the Japanese word for “wave” as its product name, NAMI’s design is inspired by the Japanese culture and its minimalism. Available in a unique shape and various colours, the product perfectly balances practicality and elegance. AGC Lighting Co. Ltd presented the UFO High Bay (HB81 Candela) at the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo which also won the 2024 Red Dot Design Award. Its unique design consists of a classic pendant light with precise optics and high-quality power components.

Thus, from intelligent control kits to eco-friendly products, the Lighting Fair provided industry professionals with a glimpse into the future of lighting. As lighting continues to evolve to meet environmental and personal needs, events like this play an important role in bringing innovative solutions to market, setting a path toward a more bright and sustainable world.
