Wall Mixer | Diverter

The installation of a few key items such as a wall mixer or a diverter is key for the successful completion of a contemporary bathroom design. 3 in 1 wall mixer taps and diverters, irrespective of their price, not only allow you to switch between different components like the handheld shower and the normal shower head, but also have temperature control and other features. So, use these faucets to avoid double-fitting attachments.

Wall Mixer

It’s a single wall-mounted unit with a common spout connected to both the hot and cold water providing knobs, allowing water to be drawn from both hot and cold sources and combined into a single flow that emerges from a single spout.

The two types of wall mixers include:

2 in 1 wall mixer: With an overhead shower and hot & cold water knobs.

3 in 1 wall mixer: With an overhead shower, hot & cold water knobs, and a hand shower.

Wall mixers are widely used in homes, hotels, and offices. They are usually made of stainless steel, brass, etc. The price of the wall mixer varies depending upon the material. They are one-of-a-kind, featuring an extractable spout and modern levers for simplicity of use. Wall mixers are resistant to corrosive conditions and have a long lifespan.

Since a wall mixer is installed on the wall, the unit can easily be changed or repaired when needed. Wall mixers are usually installed at 36” from the floor to enable sufficient space for bucket filling.

Diverter

Only the lever, spout, and overhead shower would be visible because the diverter unit’s functioning parts are hidden inside the wall. Unlike the wall mixer, the spout and knob are separate elements, making it appear more compact and space-saving. Because all of the functioning pieces are hidden in the wall, there is simply an aluminium sheet with a lever, and water flow from sources can be controlled depending on the type of diverter and feature needs.

The four different types of diverters include:

1. One way: To control one component like the overhead shower.

2. Two way: To control two components like the overhead shower and the hand shower.

3. Three way: To control up to three separate components.

4. Feature: Thermostatic mixers that maintain an exact water temperature throughout the duration of the shower and protect from any sudden changes in the water temperature.

The spout of the diverter is generally installed 18” from the flooring. Therefore, the distance between the spout and the bucket is quite less as compared to the wall mixer spout.

There are various styles and designs available in both- wall mixer taps and diverters. Homeowners can choose from these varied styles depending on their bathroom interior style and budget.
