Light + LED Expo India 2024 will showcase smart, sustainable and human-centric lighting solutions for India’s evolving architecture

The Light + LED 2024, India’s top expo, will display innovative and advanced products in LED and intelligent lighting solutions from November 21st to 23rd, 2024, at Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka, Delhi. The lighting event shall give a platform to more than 240+ exhibitors from six nations other than India and present creative solutions for small homes, high-rise apartments, architecture, infrastructure, and other areas.

The emerging role of LED in India

Due to LED light’s emerging role in India’s energy efficiency journey, its uses have spread from common households and industries to architecture and interior design, urban infrastructure, and smart city projects which have more intricate and customised needs. Government initiatives like  UJALA and LED SLNP provided a major push to LED adoption in India which saves energy costs and is also eco-friendly. Apart from this, the rise of the semiconductor industry in India will transform LED manufacturing, boost domestic production, achieve energy efficiency and lead to making India a global manufacturing hub for semiconductors and diverse lighting products.

The 29th edition of the Light + LED Expo India serves as a platform for the entire Indian lighting and LED community hosting more than 240 exhibitors and about a thousand brands. The event also features 126 new exhibitors and more participation from lighting automation companies than the previous editions, enhancing the solutions portfolio and taking the expo to a whole new level. Countries like China, Finland, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and the UAE are also participating in the prestigious lighting event apart from India. Popular brands participating are Zylos, JN Lighting, Lumens Technologies, and many others.

Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, expressed his thoughts-

He talked about the collaborative initiatives taken by the Government of India to establish a strong LED ecosystem in India. Initiatives like the UJALA and LED SLNP have boosted the adoption of energy-efficient lighting solutions across the nation, leading to cost savings, reduced energy usage and environmental benefits. He concluded by saying that the expo and summit will serve as an ideal platform for stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas, showcase advancements and further add to the growth and sustainability of the LED industry in India.

The Expo will present interactive workshops and expert-led sessions, a certification workshop and a conference. Knowledge sessions, organised in collaboration with agencies like Women in Lighting, Lighting Designers Association of India, ELCOMA, etc. will dive into the innovative use of lighting within India’s unique cultural context. Topics include lighting’s role in architecture, advancements in entertainment lighting, and the future of connected systems. Sessions will explore creative possibilities in drone light displays, smart and human-centric lighting, and India’s rise as a global lighting leader. Key discussions on “circadian lighting” and new design trends offer attendees valuable perspectives on the latest industry developments.

Parag Bhatnagar, President, Electric Lamp and Component Manufacturers Association of India (ELCOMA), commented-

He began by talking about some disruptions over the past few years due to the changes in technology in the industry and the numerous growth opportunities with India’s development. Further, he said that whether it is infrastructure or the modern office space growing by 30% or even the recent PLI scheme of the government – the CAPEX cycle is triggered. He expressed his belief in the Expo as a very prominent platform where the entire lighting fraternity will come together and there will be knowledge sharing around government policies, standards and innovation especially, the new initiatives around lighting design. He concluded by inviting the entire lighting fraternity and all ELCOMA members to Light + LED Expo India 2024.

Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, shared his insights-

He talked about the reports from leading industry research companies on the growth of the LED lighting industry by five-fold till 2032. The Light + LED Expo India 2024 edition,  will exhibit an array of products and solutions before the industry, with new launches that will take occur at the event. He also noted that the 29th edition has gathered strong support from participating companies, who are set to present an advanced showcase aimed at meeting the evolving needs of Indian consumers. Lastly, he expressed his pride in how the show highlights the growth of India’s lighting and LED industry with an emphasis on sustainability in the segment.

The exhibition has received backing from India’s top industry associations and government bodies such as MeitY, Ministry of Commerce, EESL, LiDAI (Lighting Designers Association of India), CREDAI-MCHI, Council of Architecture (CoA), Luminaire Accessories Components Manufacturers Association (LACMA), Builders Association of India, and more.

The show is organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd in partnership with ELCOMA. Its headlining event is Light + Building event in Frankfurt, Germany.
