Seminar on ‘Canadian Wood – The Sustainable Solution for the Architectural Fraternity’ held in Indore

The British Columbia (B.C.) provincial government’s crown corporation, Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd (FII India), popularly known as Canadian Wood, hosted an informative and enlightening seminar, titled ‘Canadian Wood – The Sustainable Solution’ at Marriot Hotel, Indore. The objective behind hosting this event was to emphasize the promotion, significance, and benefits of using Canadian Wood as a sustainable building material solution in interior design and modern architecture that could minimize building projects’ environmental footprint. Distinguished speakers attended the seminar and shared their expertise and valuable insights on sustainable building practices with certified wood species.

The keynote speakers comprised leading professionals from different streams such as architects, environmentalists, and industry experts. Ar. Puneet Pandey from Vima – The Dimension discussed the rising importance of sustainability in construction with wood and how Canadian Wood plays a crucial role in reducing the harmful environmental impacts of building projects. It was based on sustainability and certification from B.C. Canada and dwelling more into sustainable forestry practices. He highlighted how Canadian Wood is pivotal in minimizing the carbon footprint of construction projects. Further, Gajanan Patankar, Assistant Director, of Business Development at Canadian Wood provided a detailed analysis of the unique properties of B.C wood species and their multivarious scope in the woodworking industry. His presentation also showcased case studies of successful projects in India that utilized Canadian Wood, thus proving its increasing demand in the country as well as its versatility and longevity. Both these sessions focused on the practical benefits of using Canadian Wood species in construction and design.
