The British Columbia (B.C.) provincial government’s crown corporation, Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd (FII India), popularly known as Canadian Wood, played a pivotal role in supporting the grand opening of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) by Caple Industrial Solutions in Mumbai. The inauguration event for the expansive 13000-sq.ft. CoE at Pelhar in Vasai, on August 5, stood as a remarkable industry milestone. It highlighted Canadian Wood’s resolute dedication to propelling sustainable practices and fostering workforce skill development. Caple, renowned for its adeptness in delivering top-tier training and development facilities, also conveyed their excitement about the launch.

The CoE at Vasai stands as an industry trailblazer, representing a pioneering initiative. It boasts a unique design to showcase cutting-edge technologies and provide comprehensive year-round training programs. Canadian Wood secures the advantage of utilizing Caple’s state-of-the-art facility, hosting an array of diverse events and training workshops. Collaborating with the Furniture Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) empowers Canadian Wood to deliver exceptional training sessions, providing participants with vital industry expertise. Moreover, this facility serves as a strategic platform, effectively spotlighting and promoting Canadian Wood’s range of products. This endeavour not only enhances their brand visibility but also extends their market influence. Furthermore, it marks a substantial step forward in their industry reach.

The unveiling of the Centre of Excellence on August 5th in Vasai witnessed the presence of prominent industry leaders, professionals, and media representatives. Canadian Wood aims to use this platform to educate, upskill, as well as empower all levels of the workforce. This includes a workforce of carpenters, machine operators, production managers, and decision-makers. Moreover, the initiative aims to provide best practices in handling, manufacturing, and machining wood, promoting sustainable wood and production practices.
As a testament to their commitment, Canadian Wood has generously contributed various Canadian wood species to adorn the facility’s interiors. These exquisite wood species have been artfully utilised to craft training centre spaces, elegant counters, exquisite panelling, and captivating wood interiors. They have played a crucial role in creating durable as well as aesthetically pleasing furniture. Additionally, this effort effectively infuses the entire space with the timeless beauty of natural wood.
