About the Product
The Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF) group is a mix of Engelmann Spruce, Lodgepole Pine and Subalpine Fir. SPF has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is primarily used for framing in North American housing. Due to its dimensional stability and superior glueing properties, SPF is used extensively in the flat-packed furniture industry. It is also a great choice for modular houses, interior finishing, boxes, pallets, packaging cases and concrete formwork.
In the montane, boreal and subalpine forest regions of British Columbia and Alberta, the three softwood Spruce Pine Fir has almost the same properties and exterior uses like doors, windows etc. Solid pine wood, White Spruce, Alpine Fir have a great texture and are small trees of height 30 metres, available at the best price at Canadian Wood. They produce high-quality wood because of its resilience.
So, these softwoods have been tested for stiffness, strength, density, shear, shrinkage etc and gave excellent results.

Market structure of Canadian Wood species
Lumber grades are applied to each piece of lumber manufactured for the structural market. Also, this ensures that the buyer receives a product that remains consistently evaluated to a standard.
The size, location of defects, and usefulness of the piece of lumber are all factors in determining the grade. Also, the purpose of the grading system is to ensure that timber products meet certain criteria and performance standards.
Structural lumber moisture content
Structural lumber remains available in precisely defined sizes and dries to an average moisture content of 19 percent.
Non-structural lumber moisture content in Canadian Wood species
Lumber for non-structural applications, such as doors, furniture, millwork, and so on, remains dried to a reduced moisture content (avg. 10-14 percent). Also, depending on the needs of the customer, it is also available unseasoned.
