REHAU volunteers revamp Astitva Pratishthan School through CSR initiative
Astitva Pratishthan provides holistic education and assistance to underprivileged children, many of whom are first-generation learners within their families. Most of these students either come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds or are orphaned. Furthermore, the NGO prioritizes providing these children with a stronger foundation for life. They not only address educational needs but also essential aspects such as food, shelter, medical care, and physical training.
On 17th of June 2023, a group of dedicated REHAU employees generously volunteered their time and skills to renovate and rejuvenate two classrooms within Astitva Pratishthan’s primary section in Saswad, a village located to the South-East of Pune city.
A conducive learning environment significantly impacts shaping a student academically. Acknowledging the importance of a conducive learning environment, REHAU employees embarked on a thoughtful project – revitalizing the school’s neglected classrooms. After weeks of meticulous planning, the team dedicated substantial effort to identifying the necessary materials, such as paint, brushes, etc. Additionally, they engaged in brainstorming sessions to generate inspiring and educational art concepts for the walls.
Activities performed on the designated day
On the designated day, REHAU volunteers and the family members of employees came together on a beautiful journey of compassion and creativity. Under the guidance of professional painters, they began by applying fresh coats of paint to the classrooms, immediately illuminating the surroundings. In a display of inclusivity, even the youngest volunteers were joyfully lending their tiny helping hands to the transformation.
After the revitalizing painting session, the volunteers and children came together for a heartwarming lunch, fostering genuine interactions and bonding. Energized by the meal, the artists adorned one wall with a vibrant Solar System depiction, while the children created a symbolic People Tree, representing unity and growth. In harmony with the forthcoming Indian Monsoon season, the initiatives went beyond painting. Saplings of Guavas, Pomegranates, and Figs were carefully planted within the school premises, with the children assuming the role of caretakers. This act imparted a meaningful life lesson and forged a stronger bond between the children and REHAU volunteers.
