Hansgrohe Group receives the EcoVadis Platinum Medal for excellent sustainability performance

Individuals and businesses do not become sustainable overnight. Processes have to be analyzed, revised, and established again one after the other. For over four decades, the Hansgrohe Group has been on this path. This year, the Hansgrohe Group has received the highest recognition for its sustainability performance, the Platinum Medal, in the EcoVadis sustainability evaluation. This puts the German faucet and shower manufacturer in the top 1% of the 130,000 companies assessed. Thanks to comparable benchmarks from an impartial service provider, the company has now used the yearly systematic evaluation of the world-renowned rating for the third time to assess progress, identify areas for improvement as well as increase transparency about its sustainability performance.

About EcoVadis

With a global network of more than 130,000 rated companies, EcoVadis has grown from its foundation in 2007 to become an internationally recognized provider of sustainability ratings. EcoVadis evaluates how well a business has incorporated CSR and sustainability principles into its management and operations. Sustainable procurement, ethics, labor and human rights, and the environment are all taken into account.

Rebecca Weigold, Head of Green Company Hansgrohe SE, explains that only by consistently tracking and assessing the company’s sustainability efforts will they be able to obtain valuable insights and comparative prospects. This serves as the foundation for new initiatives and adjustments in all areas of the company. Among the effective strategies that contributed to the company’s move from silver to platinum last year were extensive ethics and compliance training for its own employees, incorporating social and ecological concerns into the company’s purchasing guidelines, and supporting national and international sustainability networks and initiatives.

In October, Hans Jürgen Kalmbach, Chairman of the Executive Board of Hansgrohe SE, joined the Executive Board of the Water Europe platform. Throughout Europe and around the world, the Brussels-based association is dedicated to creating a society that is water-safe, sustainable, and water-intelligent. It signed the so-called Windsor Declaration in November. It is the result of a summit organized by the British Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA). For this, ten of the biggest sanitaryware manufacturers in the world gathered for the first time at Windsor Castle, the private residence of the British royal family. There, they committed to creating innovative technologies, like touchless controls, resource-efficient flushing systems, and surfaces that prevent the growth of microorganisms to improve hygiene as well as save water.
