Hafele Functionality Cube- Small kitchen unit

Hafele provides a futuristic look into the ways things can be laid out in a functional house – all in the space of 39 sqm. Designed by Hafele, Studio Aisslinger. The small space furniture Hafele Functionality Cube is a functional loft apartment with a foldable table and kitchen unit for one can cook, eat, work, sleep and feel at home.

One can swivel, fold and slide inside this small space furniture functional dwelling. The foldable table turns into a bed and the sideboard becomes a home cinema. Also, the kitchen disappears into thin air – on demand. This is where aesthetics, the future, and multifunctionality become one. All in 39 square metres.

Häfele developed and built a multi-functional cube that contained everything needed for daily life in a small space of approximately 39 square metres. This magical cube not only demonstrated the use of hardware technology in small spaces but also looked into the future of homebuilding.

Hafele, based in Nagold, showed itself to visitors at the Baden-Württemberg State Horticultural Show in Nagold/Stuttgart in a floating loft cube. The total glass structure combines the inside and exterior in an unusual way: the light-filled space provides an unobstructed view of the park landscape and Nagold’s old town.

Hafele Functionality Cube– Kitchen unit

Häfele created an open living landscape of only 39 square metres with furniture designed exclusively for the residential cube. It combines cooking, dining, working, living, and sleeping within an equally exquisite and efficient architecture.
Behind moveable folding doors in a cabinet combination, a complete kitchen unit with built-in equipment and a wet area remains hidden. When you open the doors of the small space furniture, they disappear fully into the furniture front.

A dining table for four people can fold out of the parallel kitchen block. Alternatively, you can shift the worktop of the kitchen unit using a light hand movement. On one side of the kitchen block, a communicative bar is constructed. While on the other end, a hidden hob with an integrated extractor hood arises.

The living space remains situated in the small space furniture next to the main kitchen unit. A big flatscreen TV rises from a hip-high sideboard if needed. After watching TV, the device can simply vanish into the piece of furniture, revealing the surrounding scenery once more.

The Loft Cube’s third wall, which faces the riverside with seating steps, remains open. The fourth side remains dominated by a broad, floor-to-ceiling wall and shelf unit. It serves as both a working and sleeping space. The desk can be easily and rapidly lowered and converted to a bed thanks to newly built hardware. You can leave everything behind up to a height of 40 cm, making time-consuming cleaning unnecessary; you do not even need to clear glass of water.
