World Furniture Expo (WOFX) 2024 redefined the benchmarks for furniture and design expos

The 2024 edition of the World Furniture Expo, also popularly known as WOFX again raised the standards for furniture and design expos. The Expo lasted over three days between December 5th –  7th and completely changed the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai into a centre point of innovation and partnerships across countries. The event brought together industry leaders, Indian & international exhibitors, and buyers from the furniture industry, solidifying its position as a transformative force in India’s burgeoning furniture sector. WOFX 2024 had an amazing turnout, with over 100 brands and exhibitors from 11 countries, and more than 13,247 B2B buyers from 21 countries and 26 Indian states. Exhibitors from many countries such as the USA, Germany, Italy, Turkey, the UAE, China, Japan, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, and India showcased their products. Visitors got to explore the latest furniture trends, technologies, and design ideas from around the world.

Rajesh Bhagat, Chairman & Managing Director, Worldex India shared his thoughts-

He started off by highlighting the record growth witnessed by the Indian furniture and design industry which can be increased even more through collaboration. WOFX provides a platform for connecting stakeholders with international designs, materials and skills thus giving exhibitors a chance to build a pan-India presence while boosting global partnerships.

The event kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, where WOFX 2024 was inaugurated by Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister, Huzefa Samplewala, President of the Association of Furniture Manufacturers & Traders (AFMT), Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO of the Retailers Association of India (RAI), Rahul Mehta, CEO of the Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), Ketan Sheth, Chairperson of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Mumbai Chapter, along with representatives from other industry trade bodies.

Feedback from the attendees

The Expo received enthusiastic feedback from both exhibitors and buyers. Nikhil Redkar, Country Head of Kuka Home, shared that WOFX  2024 was an excellent B2B platform for their business. He mentioned they had visits from dealers in both the West and South of India, as well as a few from the North, giving them valuable exposure at both regional and national levels. Moreover, he also said that the expo stood out because of the high quality of the attendees. The audience was not only well-informed but also well-targeted which made business interactions more efficient and fruitful. According to Nikhil, the experience was smooth and surpassed their expectations. 

Pratik Thakkar, Director, Trezure Casa, mentioned that they had the chance to connect with many dealers from across India, especially from the West and South, as well as some from the North and East. This gave them a great opportunity to speed up their expansion across India. He also pointed out that the strong presence of architects and designers at their booth helped strengthen their brand visibility and credibility in the industry, positioning them well among key decision-makers and professionals.

Visitors shared similar thoughts, saying that the products displayed at WOFX 2024, both from India and abroad were trendsetting, and the show helped them stay ahead of trends and technologies.

Ashish Bhutda, CEO, Praxis Home Retail, expressed his happiness about the Expo on seeing such a wide variety of furniture products in different designs and quality, offering comfort, and the chance to meet manufacturers from both India and around the world.
