Villeroy & Boch unveils innovative bathroom concepts at ISH 2025

The bathroom is becoming more than a functional area – it is evolving into a luxury bathroom retreat for relaxation and individual well-being. In recognition of this shift, the Villeroy & Boch Group made a statement at ISH 2025, showcasing the latest bathroom trends and innovative concepts with an exhibition stand created by designers Christian Haas, Gesa Hansen, and Roberto Palomba. This presentation balances spaciousness, modern bathroom design and comfort while embracing the principles of a sustainable bathroom, mirroring the contemporary bathroom as a living space.

Redefining the bathroom experience

In today’s fast-paced world, there is an increasing need for spaces that encourage relaxation. Modern bathroom design focuses on creating an atmosphere of comfort and well-being. “The bathroom is the last truly private room in the home, making its design particularly important,” explains Gesa Hansen. More than just a retreat, a well-designed, sustainable bathroom fosters well-being and contributes to daily relaxation rituals. At ISH 2025, the Villeroy & Boch Group showcased the bathroom as an open living area, illustrating how smart architectural design facilitates the conscious and sustainable use of resources.

Embracing texture and natural tones in a modern bathroom design

As digitalisation and remote interactions increase, the importance of haptic experiences is on the rise. Encouraged by this vision, Haas and Hansen created a luxury bathroom design for Villeroy & Boch that focuses on touch, texture, and the aesthetic appeal of natural materials. Sleek solid wood furniture, smooth polished 3D tiles, and top-quality natural-coloured ceramic washbasins characterize this line. For once, black-and-white contrasts have made way for a gentle colour scheme of warm anthracite and light sand. This play between shadows and soft nuances fills the room with character and refinement. Their warm minimalism brings together calming, earthy colours with smooth transitions to produce a soothing and inviting atmosphere.

Modern bathroom design – A new definition of luxury

Luxury is changing in definition, away from transitory trends towards concern for durability, quality, and sustainability. The most critical trend is to move away from trends – to things that remain,” says Christian Haas. This approach gives precedence to material and craftsmanship, which are not just aesthetically beautiful but also useful for daily existence. The Quiet Luxury philosophy, actualised by Haas, Hansen, and Palomba, points to products featuring lasting looks, textures, and functionality. This focus on timeless design was a highlight at ISH 2025, where Villeroy & Boch’s innovative  & luxury bathroom concepts embraced elegance and sustainability.

A long-lasting modern bathroom design is more than a fashion decision; it is the promise of sustainability. More than ever, contemporary designers need to embrace an ethical and responsible vision, placing sustainability at the core of their vision. Loving respect for the environment is not a choice – it is imperative in pursuit of a wiser and more respectful future,” says Roberto Palomba.
