Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. (FII India), better known as Canadian Wood in India and a crown corporation of the British Columbia government, was part of INDIAWOOD 2025, a premier wood expo of India in Delhi NCR. The exhibition, which took place from March 6th to 9th at the India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) in Greater Noida, drew a great crowd from the wood industry. INDIAWOOD 2025 showcased a stunning range of innovative designs for timber products, all responsibly sourced, that are perfect for high-end interior and exterior design projects.
Canadian Wood at INDIAWOOD 2025
At INDIAWOOD 2025, Canadian Wood set up a stunning 160-square-meter booth with a three-sided open design that immediately caught the attention of visitors. The space showcased the beauty and versatility of five wood species from British Columbia, Canada: Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF). This year, the focus was on high-end interiors and outdoor living spaces. The booth also drew in a large crowd, with displays highlighting the strength, beauty, and flexibility of Canadian Wood.
Visitors at the wood expo got a chance to have a look at outdoor pergolas and deckings that are stylish and durable for outdoor spaces. Inside, the booth contained beautifully designed rooms—a bedroom, living room, and dining room—showing how Canadian Wood can be used in luxurious home interiors. The ceiling rafters highlighted the wood’s structural strength, while doors, windows, and frames showed off its elegance and design functionality.
Spotlights of the Canadian Wood booth at INDIAWOOD 2025
Canadian Wood partnered with some of India’s leading manufacturers at INDIAWOOD 2025 to showcase their expert craftsmanship using B.C. wood at the booth. Companies like Sumitra Woodcraft, Buildkraft India, and Artius Interior Products participated along with Canadian Wood and showed the magical combination of lumber from B.C. Canada and Indian craftsmanship. The booth attracted a range of important visitors, including architects, interior designers, manufacturers, and timber merchants. Representatives from B.C. lumber companies were also a part of the event, creating a great opportunity to connect and explore business partnerships with Indian professionals. He began by talking about the instrumental role of the INDIAWOOD exhibition in promoting the conversation about sustainable wood sourcing in India. Further, he added that INDIAWOOD serves as an important platform where the entire woodworking industry, including professionals and woodworkers, come together in one place to explore creative solutions and innovations. He then talked about how at Canadian Wood, they actively use such forums to show the importance of responsibly sourced wood and how their sustainably managed forest products complement India’s growing preference for eco-friendly materials. Lastly, he concluded by saying that as they move forward, the increasing adoption of Canadian Wood species in furniture and structural applications signals a promising future for B.C. Softwood species in India
