Milan Design Week is that time of year when Salone del Mobile fair and Fuorisalone take over the Italian city of Milan. This event is a yearly pilgrimage for designers and design enthusiasts. People receive the opportunity to learn about new products, disruptive artistic expressions, and design trends. Normally held in April, this year, the Milan Design Week festivities began on June 6, 2022, and will continue till June 12. The dates ensured maximum safety for exhibitors, visitors, journalists, and the entire international furnishing and design community from all over the world. Thus, the visitors are getting to make the most of an event that promises to be jam-packed with new things every day while remaining completely safe.
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furniture Accessories Exhibition, and Workplace3.0 are divided into the Classic, Design, and xLux style categories. The exhibition also runs along with EuroCucina and its FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) event and the International Bathroom Exhibition.
This year marks Salone del Mobile fair’s 60th anniversary. The fair features 200,000 m² of exhibition space, with around 2,100 exhibitors, including 600 designers from the Salone Satellite. The event is taking place at Milan Fairgrounds, Rho, and six Design Districts in Milan:

Brera Design District
Brera Design District, located in the heart of Milan, remains one of the city’s largest and most established design districts. Also, you can witness a diverse range of exhibitions and events at brand showrooms and temporary sites across the neighborhood.

Isola Design District
The Isola Design District works as a showcase for the work of local designers and creatives. Additionally, the district, which is located just north of the city center in the Isola neighborhood, comprises exhibitions, installations, workshops, and talks centered on the topic “Together as One.”

Tortona Design Week
Tortona Design Week is a series of exhibitions and events held in Milan’s Zona Tortona neighborhood in the city’s southwest. Also, the topic for this year’s display- “Fluidity and Design.”

5Vie Design Week
5VIE Design Week takes place in Milan’s Cinque Vie neighborhood, the city’s ancient Medieval quarter near the Duomo cathedral. Also, it features a multitude of exhibitions, conferences, and activities-themed “Prototyping Utopias.”

Louis Vuitton

During the Salone, Louis Vuitton is commemorating the tenth anniversary of its Objets Nomades collection. So, the brand has displayed an exhibition at Garage Traversi including a selection of items from the past decade. There will also be five new Objets Nomades, including:
- Three new pieces by Swiss design studio Atelier O
- A new four-seater version of the Campana Brothers’ Bomboca modular sofa
- Raw Edges’ Cosmic Table with a carbon-fiber base
Ralph Lauren at Milan Design Week 2022

Ralph Lauren is bringing its home collection to Milan for the first time. Thus, the brand is presenting a showcase of its Fall 2022 collection during the city’s major furniture and design fair, Salone del Mobile.
The firm opened the doors to its Milan palazzo headquarters, Casa Campanini-Bonomi, with a festive cocktail party hosted by David Lauren on Monday night. The party aptly showcased the name- Ralph Lauren Fall 2022 line Giving to the Palazzo Collection.
Studio Luca Guadagnino

Luca Guadagnino, an Academy Award nominee, and his team of architects have built an installation of two living spaces inspired by mid-century Italian architect Carlo Scarpa at Salone del Mobile. Also, Guadagnino displays coffee tables, fireplaces, wood paneling, lights (seen), and carpets that he designed himself.
Carhartt WIP x Toogood

Sisters Erica and Faye have presented an installation within Spazio Maiocchi to commemorate Toogood’s impending collaboration with Carhartt WIP. Also, they have deployed three huge sculptural puppets to present pieces of the collection, who will be dressed in oversized replicas of the new clothing. So, this installation is definitely giving worth a visit.
Loewe at Milan Design Week

Jonathan Anderson has created a project called “Weave, Restore, Renew” for Loewe’s sixth presentation at Milan Design Week. It is centered on the idea of giving new life to items that would otherwise be abandoned. So, the show will look at leather weaving, the Galician straw weaving practice known as Coroza, and the Korean paper weaving method known as Jiseung, among other traditional crafts from Spain and overseas.
AHEC x Studio Swine

Studio Swine showcases “Forest Tales” at the Triennale Milano, which includes 22 pieces of furniture from three American Hardwood Export Company projects as well as a fresh new Riva series. Furthermore, the show is constructed entirely of the boxes used to transport the furniture to and from Milan and includes a massive hand-painted mural.
