Canadian Wood recently held the second webinar in the WOODINNOVATIONS webinar series, which focused on the ‘Door Sector’ for door manufacturers, emphasizing its importance to the Indian woodworking industry. In addition, wood has long been a major raw material in the door industry. It finds its usage in the traditional and luxury sectors for the manufacture of doors, doorframes, and door jambs (chaukhats). Wood’s natural warmth, elegance, and beauty quickly elevates a space’s appearance and adds individuality. It can’t be duplicated with any other substance.
Manufacturers frequently consider dimensional stability, screw and nail holding ability, resistance to rot, termite, and decay, appropriateness for carving (if needed), and ease of use when selecting acceptable wood species. Because of their consistent high quality, durability, and resistance, Canadian wood species such as Douglas fir, Yellow cedar, Western red cedar, and Western hemlock are suitable alternatives to hardwood species for solid wooden doors, flush doors, and door jambs.
The recent Canadian Wood webinar driven by reputed leaders from the Indian door manufacturing industry viz., T R Krishna Murthy (E Door Solutions – Hyderabad), Jitendra Goyal (Dormak Interio – Jaipur), and Capt. Edwin Saldanha (Doors & Doors Systems – Mumbai), highlighted the trends, innovation, and creativity in door manufacturing using wood.
The presenters demonstrated a wide selection of doors. Also, they exhibited best practices and successful uses of wood species in solid wood door manufacture. It was an hour-long educational session. It shed light on how today’s house and building owners are becoming experimental when it comes to selecting doors. It’s due to their significant role in guaranteeing protection and privacy while also increasing the beauty of their particular spaces.
